What if I don’t have a vector file to produce my flag?

What is a Flag with heading and grommets?
A flag with heading and grommets is the most commonly displayed flag and is typically flown horizontally on a vertical freestanding outdoor flagpole. The hoist edge is finished with an extra heavy-duty white canvas and brass grommets.

What is a flag with pole hem?

A flag with pole hem is typically hung on smaller poles either outside a home, indoors on smaller freestanding flagpole or carried in parades. A pole hem is a sewn sleeve that matches the material of the flag and is flannel lined with a leather tab to attach the flag to the pole. The pole hem can be either on the top or side of the flag so it can be hung horizontally or vertically.

What is a Four Color Process Digital Sublimation Flag?
Four-color process digital sublimation flags are made using state of the art dye sublimation equipment printed at over 720 dpi. These flags can be flown outdoors or can be finished for indoor use. The pricing is based upon size of the flag, number of sides being printed and quantity. These flags will be printed on one side only or will read correct on both sides. Flags and table banners can be made using the four-color digital sublimation process.

What is a screen-printed flag?
Custom screen printed flags are made by forcing ink through one screen for each color of the image onto the background material. There is a set up charge to make each of the screens, which will not be charged again as long as another order is placed within 2 years. These flags can be flown outdoors or can be finished for indoor use. The pricing is based upon the number of colors of ink in the design, the background color of the flag or banner and the quantity you would like to order. Most flags have designs reading correct on the front side and reverse (backwards) on the backside. If you would like your flag to read correct on both sides please specify in your quote request.

What is an appliqué flag?
Custom appliqué flags are made using the process of layering of fabrics onto the background and sewing them into place. These flags can be flown outdoors or can be finished for indoor use. The pricing is based upon the complexity of the design and the amount of lettering and appliquéd elements. The more detailed the design, the more costly this type of flag can be to produce. In order to provide you with a quote, we must see the design of the flag. Most flags have designs reading correct on the front side and reverse (backwards) on the backside. If you would like your flag to read correct on both sides please specify in your quote request.

What is as stick flag?
A small stick mounted flag made from either polyester or 200-denier nylon fabric stapled to a black staff with gold spear. The staff size is 10 inches for a 4 x 6” flag, 18 inches for 8 x12” flag, 30 inches for a 12 x 18 inch flag and 36 inches for a 16 x 24 inch flag.
What is an avenue banner?
An avenue banner is attached to a light pole with two aluminum brackets. The banner has a standard “fold over” pole sleeve top and bottom with sewn vertical edges and 2 brass grommets. The banner arms slide through the sleeves and attach to the bracket which attaches to the lightpole. Standard avenue banners are 2 feet wide by 6 feet tall. Custom sized banners can be made to your specifications.
What is a table drape or a table cover?
A table drape or cover is to be used at trade shows, conventions, promotions, meetings, workshops or job fairs. A table drape covers the top, front and part of the back of the table. A table cover covers the top, front, part of the back and the sides of the table. Standard table drapes and covers are made to fit 6’ or 8’ tables.
What sizes are available for custom flags?
The following list below represents the most popular sizes. Any size you desire can be made. Prices will vary based on the size of the flag.

What size flag is appropriate for my flagpole?
The length of the flagpole and the number of flags being flown simultaneously on that pole determine the appropriate flag size for display outdoors in a business setting. When flying multiple flags on the same flagpole, the lower flag(s) should either be the same size or one size smaller than the main flag.

What type of artwork is required to produce the flag?
Computer Disk File: We are both Mac and PC based. When sending us a file via email, floppy disk, zip disk or CD, please follow these important instructions:
Screen Print or Appliqué Jobs: (Mac or PC files) All files must be vector. This means that the files must be comprised of outlines and not pixels. All lettering within files must be converted to outlines also so as to avoid font confusion. Acceptable file types include: .ai, .cdr, .plt, and most .eps files.
Program Specifics
Adobe Illustrator 9.0 or less vector files.
CorelDraw 11.0 or less vector files (PC only)
Macintosh CorelDraw files that have been exported as Illustrator files.
EPS vector files from other programs can be sent, however they may need to be altered by one of our graphics professionals for use. In some cases font substitutions may be necessary.
Four Color Process Jobs: (Mac or PC files) Illustrator 9.0 or Photoshop 6.0 files. Mac files are preferred. We will accept both vector and pixilated images for our 4-color process work. We can easily scale any vector files that we receive, however when sending pixilated files such as .tiff, .jpg, .bmp, .psd or pixilated .eps files, please keep final output quality in mind. In other words, the higher the quality of the file, the higher the quality the output image will be. Ideal resolution would be between 150 and 200 dpi at final output size.

[top]

What type of artwork is required to quote the flag?
Artwork that clearly shows the design, color and size of the flag can be used to provide a quote for producing the flag.

[top]

Why is the amount of colors in the design important?
If the screen-printing process is used, the more colors in the design the more labor intensive to produce and the higher the resulting cost. The screen-printing and appliqué processes can not be used to create flags with designs with halftones and gradations.

[top]

Why is the design and background color important?

The complexity of the design is important in choosing the proper process required to produce a flag. Pricing for images on dark backgrounds will result in higher pricing for silk screening.

Nylon Colors - These colors are used for the background of your flag
Pantone Colors- These colors are the actual ink used within your flag

[top]

Why knowing where the flag will be used is important?
Knowing how and where the flag is to be used will aid in recommending the correct material and finishing (i.e. heading and grommets or pole hem).

[top]

Why the quantity is important?
Quantity is important in determining which processes we can use as some processes have minimum quantity requirements.
